Cottonmouth Necklace

Inspired by the Florida-native cottonmouth, aka water moccasin.

Cottonmouths are semi aquatic pit vipers that feed on fish, small animals and insects. The adult snakes have a murky-brown and black coloration. The name cottonmouth references the soft pink and white inside of the snake’s mouth, which they will gape open as a threat display.

They are venomous, but not at all aggressive, as many believe. Cottonmouths are an important part of Florida’s ecosystem, and my personal favorite snakes. :)

This piece is made with glass beads and copper wire, with nickel-free, gold plated chain extender and lobster claw closure. 17” total length.
